What's Changed?

At the start of every year, I like to look back at the year before and see what’s changed in my life.

Yes – I accept that I am a year older and a few more bits have sagged, but this can be such a positive exercise!

In January last year, my house sale had fallen through yet again and I was so stressed that I was eating for England, I weighed just over 15 stone. In January this year, I sit in my new home, having just spent a lovely first Xmas here with the kids. I’m still nomming the leftover Xmas food, but I’m a stone lighter.

This time last year I was trying to love a man who didn’t love himself, and trying to heal him when he didn’t want to get better. That was a painful lesson, but I needed to learn it. This year, I’m in love with a man who is happy and confident and who deals with his own stuff.

This time last year, I was worrying over my business and how to get it to the next level. This year I’m a limited company and will be celebrating 5 years in March.

The thing is, the last year felt rough for me. I was aware that I was going through a lot of change and was just navigating as best as I could. So often we get to the end of a big change and just say ‘phew!’, without looking back and seeing how far we’ve come, how much we’ve grown.

So what’s changed for you? I know that the world about us seems to be going downhill fast right now, that things seem to be going from bad to worse, but if you have a look back to where you were last year – I bet you’ll find that some things have changed for the better x
